FAQ: MicroBase Pro Data Backup And Restore |
|
Recent versions of MicroBase Pro (v 2.21 and later) include an automatic
archiving and backup feature for all user created content. DSS strongly
recommends that you back up your MicroBase Data to
an external or network drive so that in the
event of a computer failure, you won't lose your valuable data. |
|
How Do I Set Up My Automatic Backup? Setting up MicroBase Pro automatic archiving is a simple procedure. We strongly recommend that all installations be protected in this way. First, decide where you would like to save your MicroBase Pro archives. You might want to use an external drive, dropbox folder or a network drive for this purpose. In the example below, we will save our archives to a network drive.
Next, configure MicroBase Pro to back up your data to your network archives folder:
Your backup plan will now run upon MicroBase Pro shutdown every Y days. |

How Do
I Restore My MicroBase Pro Data? Unlike auto archiving setup, restoration of archived data is a manual process. If you are unfamiliar or uncomfortable working with Windows folders and files, you may want to obtain help from your IT Professional. We will refer to the computer you wish to restore data from as the Archive, and the computer you wish to restore data to as the Target. If these happen to be the same computer, don't worry, this won't be a problem.
