FAQ: MicroBase Pro License Warning

   

Why Am I Seeing A License Warning When I Start MicroBase Pro?

MicroBase Pro is licensed software. Each MicroBase Pro license can only be used on a single PC. Each MicroBase Pro installation must be activated and operated using a unique license.

If you are seeing a license warning when you start MicroBase Pro, this means that the MicroBase server has detected your license in use on more than one PC in violation of the license terms.


 

How Do I Remedy This Problem?

You have a couple of options to correct this:

  • Purchase additional MicroBase Pro license(s).
  • Remove MicroBase Pro from all but one of your PCs.
  • Combination of the above such that each MicroBase Pro equipped PC utilizes a unique license.

Follow the steps below to clear your license warning as soon as possible.


Steps To Remove Your License Warning

Note: When corresponding with DSS about a particular MicroBase Pro license, please use the four or five digit license serial number to identify your license. Please avoid sending your license authorization key by email.

Here are the steps to remove your license warning:

  • Step #1: Contact us at licensing@dssmicro.com. Provide your MicroBase Pro license Serial Number and request a list of the PCs that the license is currently being used on.
  • Step #2: When Provided with the list of PCs utilizing your MicroBase Pro license, decide which PC you wish to continue using your MicroBase Pro license on. On each of the remaining PCs, do one of the following:
    • Remove MicroBase Pro from the PC
    • Activate MicroBase Pro with a different license.
  • Step #3: Provide us with the following information:
    • The PC Name you wish to continue using with your MicroBase Pro license.
    • The Date when your MicroBase Pro license was removed from all other PCs listed.
  • Step #4: When we have the above information, we will clear the license warning on our server and inform you to proceed with the next step.
  • Step #5: Once we have cleared the license warning on our server, perform the following steps with your PC connected to the Internet:
    • Start MicroBase Pro.
    • Shut down MicroBase Pro.
    • Re-start MicroBase Pro.

Your MicroBase Pro installation will no longer display the license warning.


I Can't Locate One Of The Listed PCs. What Should I Do Now?

If one of the listed PCs using your MicroBase Pro license is no longer under your control, the following option is available:

  • You can order DSS P/N 1600-3 Revised MicroBase Pro license.
    • A new authorization key will be issued for your license.
    • Your old authorization key will be terminated.
  • You will need to activate MicroBase Pro with your new authorization key before it can be used.

 

I Need To Use MicroBase Pro On More Than One PC. What Should I Do Now?

You will need to purchase additional MicroBase Pro license(s):

  • You can order DSS P/N 1600 MicroBase Pro license for each additional PC you wish to equip with MicroBase Pro.
  • When your new license arrives:
    • Open MicroBase Pro.
    • Click Help - Authorization - MicroBase Pro License.
    • Enter your new license authorization information.
    • Click OK
 

Can I Move My MicroBase Pro License From One PC to Another?

Yes, you can move your license from one PC to another. Below is a link to the steps:
