FAQ: How To Determine Your Windows Edition & Version
   

1. What Windows Edition Am I Running?

If your Windows OS has not been modified, then you can determine your Windows Edition by examining the Start Button:

The Windows 10 Start Button looks like this:

Win10 Start Button

The Windows 7 Start Button looks like this:

Win7 Start Button

The Windows Vista Start Button looks like this:

WinVista Start Button

The Windows XP Start Button looks like this:

WinXP Start Button

If you do not have a Start Button, then you are probably running Windows 8.

2. What Version Of Windows 10 Am I Running?

If you are running Windows Edition 10, then perform the following steps to determine your Windows 10 Version:

  • Right click the Windows Start Button.
  • Click System.
  • Note the Version
